Musicians

Gail Eaton

Acoustic Guitar - Electric Guitar - Vocals
Gail Eaton (“Miss Trix”) has been playing music since age 8, picking up violin, clarinet, flute, piano, and eventually guitar at 14, inspired by the raw energy of Keith Richards. But it was Nancy Wilson of Heart who truly lit the spark. Gail dove into Dreamboat Annie with her guitar teacher, learning fingerstyle techniques and Heart songs by heart.
Years later, she embraced the electric guitar and became “Miss Trixie” in the glam-rock band CoverGrrlz. When the chance came to step into the role of “Nancy” in Heartless, she jumped in. For Gail, it’s been a true honor to channel Nancy’s guitar style and harmonies. In Heartless, she plays acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, and sings backup vocals.

Jim Coyne

Lead Guitar
Jim began laying classical guitar at the age of 9 and quickly began applying what he learned to the music that he heard on the radio – Rock & Roll! By age 14, he was in his first band and playing guitar on songs from the Eagles, Santana, Aerosmith and Heart. When Jim first heard Barracuda he did not put down his guitar until he learned it from note to note and the rest is history.

Billy Turner

Bass
Billy Turner, a Sacramento native, found his love for music early, first through his family, then through rock and roll. Inspired by Led Zeppelin IV, he started on organ, then moved to guitar and ultimately bass, joining his first band as a teenager. Over the years, he performed in multiple bands while balancing a postal career and raising a family.
In retirement, he built a home studio, embraced looping technology, and began performing solo. He later formed The Web, a B-sides-focused trio, and joined Heartless, a tribute to Heart. Today, he’s living his musical dream through solo shows, band gigs, and packed dance floors.

Eddie Studebaker

Drums
Eddie Studebaker started playing drums at age 5. “Both of my older brothers were drummers, so taking up the drums was a natural thing.” Joined my first band, Crystal Water” I played in a few high school bands for fun. But wanting to pursue music as a career. I moved back to the bay area. Played in the SF club scene from 79 to 83, when I auditioned for Mary Balin of the Jefferson Airplane/ Starship. The audition consisted of jamming with the keyboardist until Marty walked in. He asked “Mark”, What do you think?” Mark said, “He’s good.” Marty turned to me and said, “Well, you look good, you’re in, show up tomorrow for rehearsals.” Had a tour booked for the entire Eastern Seaboard. We started in NYC. After a few dates. Marty cancelled the tour. In 1985, the Marty Balin Band, shared the bill with the David Elan Band. When I heard them, and their original material, I wanted in that band. I told the bass player, that if the drummer left, to give me a call. Got a call a few weeks later. Auditioned, and their manager just said, “You’re the one.” Stayed with that band for five years. Managed by Bill Graham, who had Eddie Money and Santana. We opened for Eddie Money four times.

Brett Minkin

Keyboards/backup singer
A child prodigy, Brett was drawn to music from his earliest memory and was playing piano by the age of 5. Brett’s love of playing piano graduated into his becoming a professional keyboard player, and being a member of the most successful tribute acts over the years, including Briefcase Full Of Blues (tribute to The Blues Brothers), Gator Alley (tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd), and Paradise Theatre (tribute to Styx). Always a huge fan of Heart, Brett now brings his keyboard and vocal talents to the Heartless tribute band. Over his career, Brett has performed for large audiences at concerts, festivals, and fairs all over the Western US, as well as casinos in Las Vegas, Reno, and Lake Tahoe. He has had gigs opening for a wide variety of national acts, including The Scorpions, Sammy Hagar, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Elvin Bishop, Dave Mason, Pat Travers, The Coasters, Canned Heat, and the Marshal Tucker Band. He has also had the honor of jamming on stage with such performers as the late Ronnie Montrose, Brad Gillis of Night Ranger, Harvey Mandel, Dave Elmore (Quicksilver Messenger Service), Davey Peterson (Blue Cheer), and Johnny Gunn (Eddie Money).
